It's Summer again!  We've been really busy, and we'll have some great new offerings soon.  The biggest one is our new refugiums - they'll be available in the next few weeks, and come with features that really set them apart.  We've stepped up to a larger, stand-alone CNC router from Computerized Cutters (check out the XP Series) to compliment our laser cutting system, and we're expanding our livestock lines as well.

Our tanks are filling more every day... it's great. 

The biggest thing over the last few week is the addition of a new protein skimmer.  We've been using an EV-2000 from AquaC, but as the livestock load has increased it's become increasingly unable to keep up.  Don't get us wrong, AquaC EV skimmers are great for general use - we were just trying to push ours too far.  Last week we installed an RK2 PE25 - it's 7 feet tall and costs more than a used Honda, but the improvements we're seeing after just a few days are impressive.  It also cleans itself, and that's a huge plus - mucking a half gallon of sludge from the inside of the old skimmer every week is, well... let's just say there are no words to describe that smell.  Pics of the RK2 can be seen here, along with other recent changes.  A big thanks to Rich at Waterlife for all of his help and advice!

... FREAKIN' LASER BEAMS!  We've had a lot of ideas lately for some equipment, and last week we ordered a 4'x8' 3-axis CNC Router and Laser (insert Dr. Evil joke here) cutting system to work with Acrylic.  Many thanks to the people at DynaCNC... now we just have to figure out what to do with it when it gets here.

Everyone loves our Ricordea packs!  They're still a huge hit both on the site and eBay.  If there's something special you're looking for, please contact us... we've put together several custom packages for customers over the last month.

NEW!  We're now dealers for Precision Marine - look for more of their products here soon.

 

 

Ricordea sales have been great, expect more pictures on the site soon.  We've upgraded our photo lighting, and are now shooting under a combination of 13000K/20000K halides with a touch of Actinic, and we've switched to a tripod.  The results so far are amazing!

 

 

 

It's been a great holiday season for us, and we hope it was for you as well.

 

Refugiums are still a big hit, thanks again to everyone that's purchased them.  Don't forget to send pictures for our Customer's Tanks page (coming soon!).

 

The big news is that we're adding livestock to the site.  Ricordea Florida are now available and ready to ship.  The colors are amazing in our tanks, and they'll be even better under "show tank" lighting.  We're offering some of the best prices on the web, and (unlike the other guys) we don't hold back the ultra's or try to sell them for more.

No blog posts in a few weeks... how do people keep up with these things?  Added a photo gallery to the site, check it out here.  Right now we're working on livestock listings to post after Jan 1 - it's getting close!  More refugiums are in stock, they're great - if you haven't seen them, please take a look!.

 

 

They're gone!  Our small refugiums are all sold, and we only have a couple big ones left.  Looks like a hit!

 

 

 

Our Ricordea tank is looking better than ever, and almost overflowing.  We're doing one more generation for stock, and then they'll be available to you.

 

More products have been added to the store, including XP Plus reactors.  They're a huge seller for us on eBay, and we hope they will be here as well.  Speaking of eBay... we're making a big push this month to reach "PowerSeller" - we have the sales volume, but they also require 100 Feedback Points.  We have some great stuff up for auction right now, including Koralia powerheads that nobody else has in stock.  Being a PowerSeller will look great when we introduce livestock, and it's sure to really agitate some folks in Yuba City.

 

 

 

We've been working hard to get our hang-on refugiums ready, and they're finally done and listed.  They look great, and we're confident that they they're the best anywhere.  Who else has a complete refugium system for $150?  We're currently working on a sand / rubble / macro algae package to go with them.

 

A lot of our livestock is at the 90% level - we're looking good for sales starting the first of the year.  It's great to see the tanks filling up!

 

ZeroEdge Aquariums have been added, with more pictures to come.  These are beautiful systems, they look amazing and Brett at ZeroEdge is great to work with.  Take a look!  We love them, and we think you will, too.

 

The homepage is DONE.  Shipping has been updated - both the page and the rates.  Added a cool Linka starfish and graphic at the top of the page.  We're officially live!

 

 

Everyone has a blog now... I've resisted, but what better way to keep our customers up to date?

 

The site is finally coming together.  A big thanks to Cliff and everyone at NetMinistry - you have truly been a blessing.  Many of our categories are live, and more are on the way... I can only type so fast!

 

Our grow out system is filling up more every day.  It's amazing how quickly some of these guys grow. 

 

We've also found one more way to be reef-friendly:  recycled rocks.  Live rock shipments come with a lot of rubble that the fish stores can't sell - instead of throwing it away, we're now using it to grow coral.   

 

 

This is the culmination of 5 months of non-stop work. 

 

We started shopping for a facility in June, and began build out in July.  By August, our grow-out systems were filled and cycling.  In late August / early September we began our first propagation work, and some of those pieces are finally nearing maturity. 

 

We began selling on eBay in July, and we're working to reach "Powerseller" status this month.  The website and online store project kicked off in September, and will be an ongoing effort.  As our first round of coral reaches maturity, advertising for the website will kick off.
